* A record 68 tornadoes touched down in one day on October 18, 1990--most within 100 miles of the White House. And then, President George Bush's east coast mansion in Kennebunkport, Maine, was destroyed (over 1.2 million dollars in damage) by "The Prefect Storm" in late October, 1991. It was the worst hurricane to strike that area in recorded history.
