Report: December 15, 1997
Object was located in the due south, 25 to 30 degrees above the horizon.
Object's size was difficult to judge, as the distance from it to us could
have been farther away--if it were much larger in size than it appeared:
about as long as four (4) 747 jets, and as wide as two (2) 747s, or conversely
to the size issue: one (1) mile long, and 1/2 mile wide.
The object was in three (3) parts: Two 'crescent-shaped-arches,' extending
vertically upwards--with the inside crescent-curves facing each other, as
if one were to place two banana's facing each other so that the two, together,
would form a semi-oval shape. These two 'arches' came to an obvious point
at either end, although evenly spread-out from top to bottom in width, and
not quite joined together at either end.
Down towards what would have been the bottom of the joining of these two
arches--on the inside area--was a circular, inner object, which had a darkened
area in the direct center, as in a "bulls-eye" on a target. This was confirmed
by using my 8x24 small field glasses, which I kept in the glove box.
This circular inner object remained stationary, as did the 'arches,' and
had the appearance of being a solid, metallic orb, with mentioned above:
a darkened area at the very center. The size of this 'orb,' would be, in
comparison to the 'arches' being bananas, would have been very close in
figurative-size to a regular sized marble, with the 'inner' darkened circle
being the 'eye' of a "cat's-eye-marble." Since the sun was directly behind
this object: the center object did not reflect light. I based this observation
from what I had observed with my naked-eyes and looking through the field
glasses.
There was to the direct SSW, an AWAX 747 jet, flying very low (about 2,000
ft.), on an easterly, horizontal course, seemingly, in pursuit of the anomalous
object, when upon leveling off from what would have been a 180 degree turn
for this 747 AWAX jet, coming first from the south--heading north--then looping
back around 90 degrees towards the object in the east from its perspective:
the AWAX 747 looped 90 degrees again towards the SSW and away from the object--in
dramatic fashion--as if the 747 had seen enough--and wanted to evade this
area of the sky--in a hurry--detracting from how large 747's usually maneuver.
Total viewing time:
About one (1) minute, when the three(3) objects-in-one, suddenly became half
of its original size--then vanished--in an instant, not dissipating at all;
but vanishing--all together...
Conclusion:
This could not have been two fighter-jets flying straight up and then curve
around to form the two 'arches,' as they would have been flying so low--that
sonic-booms would have been heard all over that area, and having worked for
NASA in the Space Shuttle Project: not even the Shuttle can launch straight
up defying gravity, as they must make a yaw, or, a slight turn to compensate
for the inertia. Not even missiles can go straight up, being victim of gravity
as well.
Although, admittedly, the 'arches' did have the appearance of some form of
a 'vapor-trail,' this too could have been an effect of atmosphere from the
appearance and energy of this "apparition," or, maybe, it was a "masking"
effect from a UFO? But since there was not a trace of this 'vapor-trail'
when the object (as a whole) disappeared: rule-out any known, horizontal-flying
aircraft. The departure speed alone would rule-out airplanes, or jets, as
well.
I, therefore, conclude as an honest man, that this object was indeed what
I have said that it was, as my wife (who was driving) saw it, AND the AWAX
jet, too: an "apparition," or a 'cloaking,' UFO...
I affirm that the above is a true and accurate accounting of the events related.
