The Complete History of Folk Music: The First form of music in the world! 'Stay tuned for this development!
'Ovid,' was the world's first published poet, and Folk songwriter. He was born on March 20, 43 BCE. He was Greek. He wrote his poems on clay tablets and either sold them, or bartered for food and shelter. He had a beard and long hair. He wrote, "The Fall of Icarus," and was known to play a stringed instrument and sometimes 'sang his poems' out loud to crowds of people. Folk music began (as in other cultures) as a means in which to spread 'news' to other villages and to other tribes. It was 'poems' put to 'music,' which 'informed' people of the status quos with messages of love, personal pride and respect for your fellow man. It lives on today as the world's oldest, and first form of music. JGL
