SOS Down in Waco

(An American Folk Song)

By

Jason  Leigh (c) 1998 (BMI)

1. When Washington crossed the Delaware: he didn't stand alone!

There were scores of mighty 'Minute Men,' who froze to the bone.

Then the 'Yankees' fought the 'Rebels' in, America's Civil War!

They were nameless men nobody knows, but they live forevermore.

* go to chorus

 Chorus

There's an 'SOS' down in Waco!

There's a dee-stress, everywhere we go.

But, nobody gives a damn, if you fought in Vietnam.

There's a dee-stress, everywhere--we go.

2. The Kaiser over Germany, he started the first World War!

It was the cruelest 'war to end all wars,' they'd never seen before.

Then Sergeant York, he made his mark!

And they went on to Victory!

But the nameless souls nobody knows, are just numbers in history.

* repeat chorus

 3. Hitler and his 'war machine,' had a 'master race' in mind!

To genocide the millions, and to take all he could find.

The A-bombs brought the mushroom clouds, it was hell across Japan!

And the nameless souls nobody knows, God took 'em by the hand.

* repeat chorus and end.
